History

Morkenborg Inn, which is a Royal licensed inn, was erected in 1771 on the
lands of the estate Rugaard.
The Inn was in the ownership of the proprietors of Rugaard till 2004.

Morkenborg Inn is situated in the areas of natural beauty under the name og Stillebaek, an area situated in the north of the Iceland Funen, used as a location for several Danish movies produced in the 1960s by the Danish film producer Morten Kock.

In the 1970s a wing with 12 rooms was added to the building thus the Inn today has
12 double rooms.

The inn is situated less than 200 meters from the ever famous Ventetornen which has its own story and meaning as a gathering point for the natives of Funen dating all the way back to the fifteenth century.

The inn owns 544 acres of beautiful, hilly land including a lake.
